About This Event


Join fellow musicians in listening and discussing cool and interesting tracks from a variety of genres and artists. Each panelist brings a selection of songs, and after each song the audience rates the song and everyone discusses what's going on in the music to make it what it is (good, bad, and interesting).

Bob Boilen is the creator and host of NPR's All Songs Considered.  


Marcus J. Moore is a music journalist for the Washington Post, Washington City Paper, MTV and HipHopDX. He's also written for the BBC, Complex Magazine, and Okayplayer, among others.


Blaine Misner is a DMV based Recording Engineer and Music Producer. Credits include Blue Oyster Cult, HR/Bad Brains, Jaimie Foxx, Ryan Tedder, and Rihanna.


Louis Weeks is a Baltimore-bred, DC-based composer, electronic musician and producer. Louis's debut album "shift/away" came out earlier this year and is available for free at www.louisweeksmusic.com

This is the first of the ‘Flashband:Social’ events, events designed for musicians to have a place to meet and socialize. Not a musician? You’re still welcome to attend, but be prepared for lots of questions about what instrument you play.
