About This Event

Join fellow musicians in listening and discussing cool and interesting tracks from a variety of genres and artists. Each of our four panelists will bring music that they think is worth discussing. We'll listen to each song, everyone holds up scorecards to rate the song, and raucous debate ensues.

 

As access to music and streaming gets easier, there seems to be more music in our lives. However, we rarely take the time to actively listen to the music we come across - just listening, thinking, and dissecting what makes a song tick. This event encourages you to do so, and then go beyond your own impressions through the analysis and insight of the rest of the audience and the music panelists. This is going to be a fun event.

The Panelists

Bob BoilenBob Boilen is the creator and host of NPR's All Songs Considered.  

Stephanie WilliamsStephanie Williams is the founder and managing editor of DC Music Download, a website that has quickly grown to become the leading source for local music coverage in the District. She has also contributed to outlets like MTV along with news networks like CBS, ESPN and more. 

Jake GrotticelliJake Grotticelli is a sound engineer with House Studios. Making music since before he could conceptualize words, Jake has always had a passion for creating and performing music.  Multi-Washington Area Music Award nominee, Jake's work shapes and changes the Washington Music Landscape. 

Brian Farrow Brian Farrow in local DC bassist and singer songwriter having played with Sitali, PaperHaus, Justin Trawick, Nila Kay, Tara Trinity, The Peter Edelman Trio, The Delafield String Band, Bellwether Hall and more. He is currently on tour with and the bassist for the Hackensaw Boys.
