About This Event

The Flashband Trio Showcase invites musicians to form bands consisting of only 3 people.  Think classic trios like Nirvana, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and Primus.  These bands are challenged to create full arrangements with just 3 members.  You can use bass, drums, and guitar; keys, flute & sax; or whatever combination you can come up with that sounds awesome.

Like all our Flashband Showcases, we challenge the participating musicians (most of whom have never met) to make a band in a month. This is their one night only show.

This show is one third of our 3 year anniversary celebration on April 11. This show brings together 3 piece one-night bands, the Remix show mashes up genres, and our third theme brings back alumni bands who formed through Flashband and continued gigging. Get all the details and get your tickets here.

Yellow Room

Rock trio bent on bringing you off the cuff jams and classics like Jimi Hendrix.

Ménage À Garage

Pop punk goodness x 3. Think a splashy song by The Breeders meets an up-tempo dance song about Joy Division meets your fave white-boy rap trio (who started as a punk band). Plus. outstanding originals. Enough mystique for now. The important question is, who will start the mosh pit?

Fat Bureaucrat

Blues rock with a little funk and speed mixed in. Covers include Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Wolfmother, ZZ Top, and Sublime.

Lawrence's Band

Flashband Platinum Award Winners

Los Irish Lobos

Kiss me - We're Latin Irish Whiskey in the Jar - Drunken Lullabies - Zombie - The Boys are Back in Town - and the Last Great Irishman!! All the heaviest hitters from Ireland!

Baker's Trio

Three-part harmony infused rock, Americana, folk and pop covers and originals by three peeps and an extra for insurance (if we lose one, the trio still stands). Think Crosby, Stills & Nash, the Eagles, Mumford & Sons, etc.

The Tennessee Three

Indie-folk awesomeness with guitar, banjo, and bass: "Man on Fire" by Edward Sharpe, "Bloodbuzz Ohio" by The National, "The Water" by Johnny Flynn, and an original tune.

The Three Stogies

Down and dirty old school soul and funk.

Threedom Fighters!

Pavarotti meets a meat grinder and an electric socket. Doing some Hendrix, BTO, ZZ Top, and Grand Funk. MORE COWBELL!!!!

So if I plan to play electric I need to bring an amp to the meet and greet, correct?

Looking for an indie power trio or lo-fi indie with untraditional instrumentation.

Thanks, Mike. Did the math and I should be okay, as long as I can find people with times that match when I'm around.

Typically 3 or 4 times it seems. Or enough to get your sets down. Hopefully you can practice your parts on your trips.

How often do bands typically practice? The snow delayed a work trip and now I'm traveling twice for work before the showcase. :(
